LETTER: For Floyd Bates, candidate for WISD school board Posted in Letters to the Editor on May 03, 2016 by Editor To the Editor:Thank you Mr. Floyd Bates for your willingness to support teachers and students when they need you the most. Several years ago, I was one of those teachers. I will always remember that you were one of those board members who saw me as an individual and voted accordingly. I also remember receiving notes of apology from other board members hoping that I could understand that it was their "duty" to vote for administration. I never did understand. Instead, I have learned to treasure the following words of Martin Luther King, Jr.:"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Continue to be true in your role as a servant in the realm of education. I wish you the best of luck in the WISD school board election.Sincerely,Karen Navarro Jenkins You may also be interested in readingFor Matt Authier WISD TrusteeLETTER: Open letter to WISD school boardFor Matt Authier WISD TrusteeLetter: Vote no on the proposed WISD bondLETTER: My thoughts on the GOP forumFor Matt Authier WISD TrusteeFor Matt Authier WISD TrusteeWISD Trustee Candidate: Clay SchoolfieldLetter: In response to Scott Brooks of the WDL – Enough IS EnoughTeaching certificates suspended for former accused WISD teacher ← COLUMN: Stay aware of road barricadesDeath of man in Ennis PD custody under investigation → Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
