I hope this message finds the good folks of Waxahachie doing well. Recently I was asked what I thought of Matt Authier running for Waxahachie Independent School District Board of Trustees and it prompted me to send you this letter.

To the Editor,

Over the past few months I have watched this bond take form in the same way you would watch a neighbor getting ready for a garage sale — Gee, that couch looks great and I could sure use a new one! And they are selling their robot vacuum? I would LOVE that! But, I really don’t NEED that. And, I hate to say it, but their Aunt Vivienne’s collection of porcelain pigs is just useless.

Why in the world would anyone vote to give the WISD School Board $125 million to build a new high school? They just bought 300 acres of property of which more than 90 acres are in a flood plain

Fact: The Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) did not have representation from every school.

Fact: The LRPC meetings were not open to the public.
