LETTER: For Perry

To the Editor:

Normally I would not debate an Ellis County citizen's comments but Bill Kinsala needs a comment.

Rhetoric is the skill in using language effectively and persuasively. Bill falls short with his would be rhetoric but he does try over and over and over.

Obviously Bill has a literacy problem. He is unable to read Commissioner Perry’s post cards with any kind of comprehension.

Because there is not a whole lot of room on a post card Commissioner Perry states he will "Promote Economic Development", "Strengthen Our Local Economy", "Provide Needed Services, like Improving and Maintaining Roads", "Keeping Taxes Low", and my favorite two which I have experienced first hand when Commissioner Perry stepped up in speaking engagements in front of the TCEQ, trips to Austin and meetings to answer question on the ill-conceived application of industrial, hospital, storm and household Metroplex Sewage Sludge Waste. Which has been top applied within yards of hundreds of Ellis homes. That would be one. "Standing Up for Our Rights" and two, "Protecting our Citizens". That DOES include trying to protect farmers from themselves who do not have the slightest clue of the amount of hazardous chemicals and pathogens they dump on their farms contaminating Ellis water and food. More than likely they are blinded by the "smell of money". This would make Bill’s statement about the Commissioner’s post card "Neither stated anything about what he has done or plans to do as the job of a county commissioner" a load of codswallop.

For the record many other Texas Counties are fighting to keep sewage sludge out of their Counties. Here are a few of them: Victoria, Calhoun, Jackson, Johnson, Austin, Hill, Ellis, Parker, Lampasas and Wise. Many have written resolution about the land application of sewage sludge including the Texas State Farm Bureau.

The rest of Bill’s letter goes on to say "I think..." Offhand I would say that too is a load of codswallop.

Having written this, I appreciate Bill putting out what was said again for Ellis voters and also giving me another chance to let farmers, who are or will use sewage sludge, know they are being suckered by the municipalities as a cheap dump site for municipal hazardous waste. http://www.stopsewagedumpsellis.com/

Please vote for Commissioner Perry. From my perspective he has the heart and the intelligence to continue to maintain and protect Ellis County.
