He will be seeking the Republican nomination."After much thought, prayer and with the full support of my family, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Sheriff of Johnson County. Although the primary is still almost 6 months away, I am excited about the opportunity and want to start working on a “New Brand” for Johnson County. I believe Johnson County needs an experienced leader and true conservative Sheriff," Saulter said."As a twenty year resident of Johnson County, I have seen the growth and development change the landscape of this county. I understand the unique challenges that growth and development presents to our local government and law enforcement. As your elected Sheriff, I would strive to protect your quality of life, your property, and your rights! I will work with county officials and local leaders to ensure Johnson County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family."According to a press release, Saulter has been a certified Peace Officer for more than 15 years has has served with the Ellis County Sheriff's Office for over 13 years.He is responsible for the Patrol, Training and License & Weight Divisions as well as serving as the Public Information Officer.His experience includes patrol, domestic drug interdiction, SWAT, Field Training Officer and Narcotic Investigator to include undercover operations."I have been involved in numerous investigations ranging from narcotics to capital murder on the local, state and federal levels," Saulter said.Saulter worked in the medical supply industry as Director of Operations for Westpark Healthcare Services prior to entering his law enforcement career. His responsibilities included overseeing and managing a multi-million dollar budget, negotiating vendor contracts, personnel management and billing.Saulter's responsibilities with the Ellis County Sheriff's Office also include being involved in the budget process."I have also been intimately involved in the budgetary process and the allocation of resources from within that budget. As a true conservative, I have worked within my budget to find creative and innovative ways to save taxpayer money without sacrificing quality of work, safety, or professionalism. As your Sheriff, I promise to be a good steward of your tax dollar," Saulter said."Not only will I be tough on crime, but I will be smart financially while keeping you safe."Of his accomplishments, Saulter said he is most proud of his family."Of all of my accomplishments, I am most proud of my family. I am a dedicated husband to my wife, Angie, a proud father of our three children, and elated grandfather of four grandkids," he said.
