Midlothian Independence Day festivities to begin July 3 Posted in Midlothian on June 28, 2015 by Publisher The theme for the 2015 Midlothian Independence Day Parade is "Salute to our American Heroes."MIDLOTHIAN — To kick off Independence Day celebrations in Midlothian, Citizens National Bank is presenting a fireworks show on Friday, July 3 at 9:15 p.m. followed by the city hosting a parade Saturday morning.Spectators can view the fireworks show from the MISD multi-purpose stadium parking lot. Gates will open at 6 p.m.On Saturday, July 4, the City of Midlothian will hold an Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. The parade was organized by Parks & Recreation and the Park Board.This year's theme is "Salute to Our American Heroes." Air Force veteran Cpl Nick Bristow will be the Grand Marshal. Bristow is also a WFAA Daybreak traffic reporter and DeSoto Police Officer.The parade will begin on N. 8th St. near the police station. The route heads south down N. 8th St., west on W. Ave F in front of City Hall, and north on Overlook Drive where the parade will end at the corner of Bowie Dr.Click here to view the event flyers.
