Wray to two committees Posted in Ellis County on February 04, 2015 by Publisher John Wray was sworn in as the new Texas State Representative of House District 10 on Jan. 13, 2015.AUSTIN — Texas House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, announced house committee appointments for the 84th Legislature on Wednesday afternoon.State Representative of House District 10 John Wray, R-Waxahachie, was appointed to the Homeland Security & Public Safety and Ways & Means committees."I'm excited that I was appointed to two committees, Homeland Security & Public Safety and Ways & Means," Wray said. "I am honored that Speaker Straus has trusted me with the responsibility to serve on these important committees and am ready to start working for the people of Texas and House District 10."Wray took his oath of office and was sworn in on Jan. 13. Wray replaces Jim Pitts, whom in 2013 announced his retirement and stated he would not seek reelection. Wray defeated a number of opponents during the 2014 Republican primary election and did not face a challenger in the general election.
