RED OAK — According to the Red Oak Police Department, Duncanville police and Grand Prairie police arrested two suspects, with help from Cedar Hill police, in relation to multiple aggravated robberies around the metroplex.

COLUMN: Mudding in fields is a felony

OK, ladies and gentlemen, let’s beat the dead horse for a minute.

I’m sure I’ve preached on this subject enough to irritate some of you but I want the people driving through our farmers’ fields (mudding) to stop.

The two individuals, a hispanic male and black male, are suspects in multiple aggravated robberies across the metroplex. The latest crime occured at the Exxon Tiger Mart located at 100 Harris Ave. in Red Oak on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal shooting

ENNIS — The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting stemming from an altercation between two former roommates.

Stoney Jewell Ellis, 38, of Red Oak was arrested on Friday, August 19, 2016 on a charge of "Accident Involving Death". The arrest stems from a Sunday, August 7, 2016 accident where a hit-and-run victim later succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

RED OAK — On Sunday, August 7 at around 11:24 p.m., the Northern Ellis Emergency Dispatch (NEED) center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 2600 block of Ovilla road in reference to an accident involving a subject on a bicycle that had just occurred.

Jamal Lamont Fisher, 22, was arrested on August 17, 2016 by Red Oak police and charged with one Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 under one gram and possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 over one gram but under four grams.
