He was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center at 10:57 a.m. on Thursday, August 4. He has since been released from the Ellis County Jail after posting $80,000 in bonds.Ellis County Citizen attempted to reach out to Jones' attorney Friday night for comment and are waiting for a response.Jones was previously indicted on May 11, 2016 on a Class A Misdemeanor and official misconduct charge. He was accused of using county property for his re-election campaign and personal business.He was indicted a second time on February 8 for third degree felony of tampering with evidence. He was accused of remotely deleting information from his cellphone after it was already in police custody as evidence.
