Perry.ELLIS COUNTY — The March 1, 2016 Republican primary election is over and the results are in. Contested Ellis County race results are as follows.Johnny Brown will retain the position of Ellis County Sheriff with 62.72% of the vote over Wess Griggs Winn who had 37.28%. Brown garnered 14,435 votes over Winn's 8,579.In the County Commissioner Precinct 3 race, Paul D. Perry came out on top of Frank Sanchez with 57.67% compared to Sanchez's 42.33%. Perry had 4,163 votes to Sanchez's 3,056.Perry will have a Democrat challenger, Fred O. Smith in the general election.Precinct 2 Constable Terry Nay won with 77.28% to Douglas "DC" Morgan's 22.72%. Nay received 4,559 votes to Morgan's 1,340.Precinct 4 Constable Mike Jones took the win over Mike DeLara with 64.36% to DeLara's 35.64%. Jones had 5,821 votes and DeLara had 3,223.The County Commissioner Precinct 1 race will go into a runoff between Bobby Crittenden and Randy Stinson. Crittenden had 1,062 votes for 28.65% and Stinson had 947 votes for 25.55%. The winner of the runoff election will face Democrat challenger Ronald Levingston.Tim Sadler followed with 755 votes for 20.37%, Jeffrey S. Walsh had 573 votes for 15.46% and David Pagan had 370 votes for 9.98%.
