Ennis police investigating homicide after finding burnt body Posted in Ennis, Headline on December 04, 2015 by Staff Report Photo credit: Ennis Police Department ENNIS — The Ennis Fire Department responded to a vehicle on fire in the 1000 block of S. Preston St. in Ennis during the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 4.After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the remains of an adult individual inside the vehicle. The remains have been taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification.The Ennis Police Department believes the deceased body to be that of Lester Bentle, 89, of Ennis, but will be awaiting confirmation from the medical examiner.
