Waxahachie free disposal days set for May 5 through May 9 Posted in Waxahachie on May 05, 2015 by Staff Report WAXAHACHIE — The City of Waxahachie has announced Spring Sparkle from May 5 through May 9. The "Free Disposal Days" will be held at the Citizen's Convenience Station located at 499 Lions Park Road.One pickup load or one trailer of equal size (maximum 3.5 cubic yards; example: regular size truck bed or a trailer that is eight feet long by four feet wide by three feet high) containing trash or garbage will be free.Citizens are required to show a valid photo ID and current city garbage bill. Spring Sparkle is available to all residential households inside the city limits and does not apply to residents outside the city limits or businesses.Other items that will be accepted at no charge include tires (limit 10), batteries (limit two), furniture (limit two pieces), and small appliances (limit one, excluding appliances with Freon).Newspapers and plastics for recycling, paint or wet paint cans, items with Freon, construction waste, oil lubricants of any kind, scrap metal, solid waste and yard waste will not be accepted.State law requires that all refuse be either bagged or covered when transporting to prevent littering, therefore loose refuse will not be accepted.For questions, call 469-309-4132 or 972-937-3367.
