Red Oak Junior High receives first place at One Act Play Competition Posted in Red Oak on February 19, 2015 by Publisher Photo courtesy Red Oak ISD Row 1: Emily Barnes, Alyssa Villion, Cara Fine, Andrew stiener, Erin Freeman, Dawn Kiser Row 2: Emma Cottrell, Aviery Boonne, Abigail Vinson, Jesseca Hogan, Laney Fleming Row 3: Alex Vallejo, Kaliegh Lansdell, Abigail Rodriguez Guzman , Rhian Carson, Vernoica Vent, Maria Sandri Row 4: Katrina Keener, Emma Pitts, Avery Taylor Row 5: Trevor Burns, Drew davis, Tyler Sigler, Devin Wilcox, Connor Nunley, Christian SamuelsRED OAK — On February 13, the Red Oak Junior High One-Act Team competed against five other schools in the area in the UIL One-Act Play Contest at the Red Oak High School Performing Arts Center, where they received 1st place with the play, The Diviners.The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized Texas schools present an 18-40 minute play and may be judged by a panel of three judges or a single judge. The contest is held on a single day and open to the public. At each level of competition a judge awards individual acting awards as well as selecting three productions to advance to the next level of competition up to the Regional Level where only two will advance to the State Level.
