WAXAHACHIE — Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched at 10:30 p.m. Monday, April, 27, to a location at Farm-to-Market 876 and Bell Branch Road in reference to a mother and daughter who were trapped in their car in high water.

Child molester sentenced to life without parole

ELLIS COUNTY — A convicted child molester will spend the rest of his life in prison for sex crimes committed against a child. On April 24, 2015, an Ellis County jury sentenced 38-year-old Charles Bailey Attaway, of DeSoto, Texas, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Midlothian PD warns residents about unsolicited roofing companies

MIDLOTHIAN — With recent storms passing through Midlothian, there will be an increase in roofing companies going door to door through neighborhoods.

Roofing companies are required to get a "City of Midlothian Solicitors Permit" before going door to door.
