Record early voting numbers ahead of Tuesday’s election Posted in Ellis County on November 06, 2016 by Publisher ELLIS COUNTY — Early voting in the 2016 General Election in Ellis County has exceeded 2012 early voting numbers.Voter turnout during early voting has been 47,21% Of the 102,217 registered voters. 48,257 ballots have been cast.Compared to the 2012 General Election, 38.77% of 89,133 registered voters voted early. 34,559 ballots were cast.According to the Texas Secretary of State website, between the years 1988 through 2014, the next highest early voter turnout was in 2004 when George W. Bush defeated John Kerry. 44.99% of 78,274 registered voters cast their ballots early. 20,896 ballots were cast.The last day to vote in the 2016 General Election is Tuesday, November 8.
