2016 Ellis County Democrat primary winners in contested races Posted in Ellis County on March 01, 2016 by Publisher ELLIS COUNTY — The March 1, 2016 Democrat primary election is over and the results are in. Contested Ellis County race results are as follows.In the County Commissioner Precinct 1 race, Ronald Levingston took 54.58% of the vote to Michael L. Heard's 45.42% Levingston had 667 votes to Heard's 555. Levingston will face Republican candidate Bobby Crittenden and Randy Stinson, depending on which of the Republican challengers wins their race in the runoff election.Jimmy Ray will face a runoff with Tyron Davis in the Constable Precinct 3 race. Ray had 38.54% of the vote compared to Davis with 34.81% and Henry Curry with 26.65%. Ray received 269 votes, Davis had 243 and Curry received 186.
