I believe the Constitution is sacred and it should not be re-written by liberal judges.10) What motivated your interest in running for Ellis County Constable?A desire to serve the public wherein the city and county I live at.11) Briefly and succinctly define the job responsibilities of the office you are seeking.A Constables is a Constitutional Law Enforcement Officer in Texas that deals with Court Issued documents like Citations, Writ of Possessions, Subpoenas, Temporary Restraining Orders and Constables also serve as Bailiffs for the Justice of the Peace in their Court proceedings. Constables like other Law Enforcement Agencies may work traffic and issue citations, keep the peace when needed and make arrests when appropriate.12) What qualifications and professional experiences do you possess that are applicable to law enforcement and to the civil law responsibilities the position you are seeking requires? Be specific.As an active Police Officer and have several years' experiencewith serving warrants and serving municipal subpoenas and I have served as a bailiff for the municipal courts on occasion. I have been trained as civil process server, in addition I have also served in the Texas State Guard achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant13) What qualifications do you possess that will enable you to manage a budget of over $160,000 for the constable’s office you are seeking? Be specific.Handling my personal finances and being conservative with my money, also have been trusted to handle money for formal employers.14) How has your education prepared you for this office?I have attended the Police Academy and have attended some basic college courses, and have thousands of hours of additional of training good law-enforcement, civil process emergency management, which prepares me for the position.15) Have you declared bankruptcy or have had any liens placed upon you in the past 10 years? If so, please explain.No, and never have.16) What distinguishes you from your opponent(s)?I am willing and able to dedicate all my time to the Office of Constable and serving the citizens of Ellis County. I will be reachable and compassionate giving the best service possible. I would never consider the job part time nor delegate any of my responsibilities to others.17) Is there any additional training that you plan to seek to assist you in the duties of Constable?Yes, I will immediately attend a Civil Process class when ones available and the required Constable training. I will continue with emergency management courses as well as other law-enforcement related and Administrative courses.18) What is the appropriate budget size for the constable's office and why should the current budget be cut, remain the same or increased?I believe the budget should remain the same. I will be frugal with the tax payer's hard earned dollars and seek out new ways of using The resources available.19) What are the three greatest challenges facing Ellis County related to the position you are seeking? If elected, what measures would you propose to resolve them?1) Working within the budget, hiring and retaining quality personnel.2) Protecting citizens, performing the task of a Ellis County Constable.3) Making sure I give the best service possible to the citizens of Ellis county.20) If elected, what are your top three priorities? How will you work with other elected officials and county staff to achieve them? Be specific.1) Inventorying the Constable Office assets and review the budget, develop a relationship with deputies and office personal to develop a plan on how to utilize our resources.2) Meet with the JP And staff on how we can give the best service.3) I would meet with the County Commissioners, sheriff department, fellow constables and with Ellis County emergency management as soon as possible, to develop a working relationship and determine a plan for mutual assistance when needed.21) In your opinion, what are the most important qualities that a Constable needs to have?Integrity, dedication, have the knowledge and skills to perform the duties, and above all else good community relations to the service skills. After all we are public servants and we work for the citizens Of Ellis County.22) Where do you believe a citizen's rights come from?They are God given and from The US Constitution, the Bill of rights, and the Texas Constitution.23) What is your opinion on the right to carry firearms, as defined in the Constitution of the United States of America?I believe in the Second Amendment and support law abiding citizen's right to carry firearms.24) What is your opinion on asset forfeiture for individuals who have not been found guilty in a court of law?They should immediately be given their assets back. The constitution says that no person shall not have any property taken from them without due process of law.25) Federal state and local laws sometimes conflict with the original intent of the Constitution of the United States of America. If elected, how do you plan to enforce laws which may conflict with the Constitution?I will not enforce and will refuse to obey any laws that contravene the US Constitution. After all the Constitution is the foundation of our legal system.26) How can the office of Constable best serve the citizens of the county?Civil law is an important part overall legal system, we need individuals Ie; law-enforcement Who are trained to deal with both civil and criminal law to deal with this side of our legal system, By being dedicated to the Office and serve it on a full time basis as representatives of the system as well as protect the individuals involved.27) What is your opinion on local law enforcement agencies employing military style training, equipment and tactics?Due to the current state of our country and the influx of persons into this country with evil intentions to commit acts of terrorism by any means as recent acts have shown, therefore I believe local Law Enforcement needs to be prepared to respond with equal or greater force and equipment to stop or repeal them before the kill innocent citizens or or destroyed our freedoms as we've come to know him them.28) If elected, how would you reach out and form relationships with residents of Ellis County and how would you reach out to those residents in the outlying areas of the county?I would reach out to and meet regularly with the citizens. I would attend and or host community events.29) If elected, what are the factors on which you will base your decisions as Constable?I would carry out the duties of the office and enforce the laws fairly, compassionately, towards the focus of giving the best service possible.30) Why should voters choose you?Because I am honest Christian with strong conservative values, with strong moral values, including believing that citizens Constitutional Rights should not be trampled on. I am dedicated to serving others and would faithfully serve the Constable's Office full time.
