Jan. 15 water main repair will cut water to Red Oak’s Old Town area overnight Posted in Red Oak on January 15, 2016 by Staff Report Publisher The City of Red Oak will be repairing a water main that will leave residents in the "Old Town" area without water beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15 through Saturday morning..RED OAK — The City of Red Oak’s Public Works Department will be conducting some minor water line repairs in the “Old Town” area beginning Friday, January 15 at 11 p.m. and continuing through Saturday morning.Water service will not be available during this time. Water service will be restored as soon as possible and should be available for non‐potable use sometime Saturday morning.As a precautionary measure, the City of Red Oak is issuing a Boil Water Notice effective January 15, 2016 at 11 p.m. for the “Old Town” area generally located south of Red Oak Road between Live Oak Street and the railroad tracks at SH 342. At that time, water should not be used for potable uses such as drinking, cooking or making ice unless the water is boiled vigorously for two minutes and allowed to cool.City of Red Oak staff anticipate lifting the Boil Water Notice by Sunday afternoon, but the Boil Water Notice shall remain effective until notified otherwise.
