LehrmannFORT WORTH — Conservative Supreme Court Justice Debra H. Lehrmann made her re-election bid official on Tuesday, filing to place her name on the 2016 ballot.Justice Lehrmann has served on the Texas Supreme Court since 2010. Prior to her appointment, she spent 23 years as a family law trial judge in Fort Worth. She is a past chair of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA/FLS) and a member of Phi Beta Kappa legal honor society."During my time on the Court I have been fair and have strictly interpreted our law and Constitution," Lehrmann said. "We see tough cases, but it’s never my job to legislate from the bench."Lehrmann graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in 1982 and has been an active leader within the legal profession ever since. She has received numerous legal awards, including those honoring her work serving children subject to abuse and neglect. She has continued to protect young Texans and their families through her work on the Court.Justice Lehrmann is a lifelong Republican. She has been married to Greg Lehrmann, J.D. for 32 years and the couple has two adult sons.Recently, Justice Lehrmann has received the endorsement of two of Texas' top pro-life organizations and one of the State's strongest advocates for pro-life action."We are proud to endorse Debra Lehrmann for re-election to the Texas Supreme Court," Texas Alliance for Life Executive Director Dr. Joe Pojman said.
