Ennis resident Daniel Hinojosa, 36, was sentenced on Monday, November 9, 2015 to 75 years in prison without parole for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child.ELLIS COUNTY — On Monday, November 9, 2015, Daniel Hinojosa, 36, of Ennis, Texas was sentenced by an Ellis County jury to 75 years in prison for the offense of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child. The same jury previously convicted Hinojosa of the offense after a trial in the 40th District court.During the trial, jurors heard testimony that Hinojosa repeatedly molested the victim for several years until she was sixteen years old. The abuse began when she was twelve. The evidence showed that Hinojosa would give the victim marijuana in exchange for sexual favors.The jurors deliberated for about two hours before handing down their sentence of guilty. During punishment, jurors heard evidence of human trafficking. Hinojosa sold the victim and another minor for sex. Prior to the girls performing sexual acts, Hinojosa would give them cocaine to prepare them.There is no parole on this offense. Therefore, Hinojosa will serve the full 75 year sentence.Prosecutors Habon Mohamed and Grace Pandithurai thank the jury for protecting the community with their swift and just verdict.
