"The damage in many areas is of greater magnitude than it was during the spring flooding, due to the volume and velocity of the weekend’s floodwaters," Paul D. Perry, Ellis County Commissioner, Precinct 3, said.Commissioner Perry wants to make residents aware of the following road and bridge closures, as of Tuesday morning:• Weakley Branch at the bridge due to damage to the bridge • Finn Road due to washouts • Cosby Road due to culvert washout • Hamrock Road due to culvert washout • Dry Branch Road due to high water and possible washout • Joanna Road due to culvert washout • The long bridge on Holder Road is also still closed for non-weather-related new construction.Remember, if a resident sees an emergency road condition, call 911 to notify the sheriff's department, and an appropriate responder – including the Precinct 3 road and bridge crew – will be dispatched.
