GLENN HEIGHTS — This Saturday, August 22, 2015, the City of Glenn Heights, Harvest of Praise Ministry and Ovilla Road Church of the Nazarene are working in partnership to host the City of Glenn Heights’ 1st Back-to-School Bash (B2SB) at Heritage Community Park. The "Back-to-School" season is viewed with enjoyment and eagerness by many, but for several families within our community, the same season can also create angst and put financial strain on parents and caretakers. The B2SB is a collaborative community fair where families can come to one place and get assistance with back-to-school preparations. During the B2SB, free haircuts and styling will be offered and 100 backpacks stuffed with supplies will be given away to eligible Glenn Heights residents (Proof of residency for backpack giveaway will be required). The event will conclude with the final Summer Movie- in-the-park showing of "Annie" (2014 version). In addition to the free haircuts and distribution of 100 FREE backpacks and school supplies, family style games and "throwback" fun stations will be set up throughout the park for families to enjoy. Sonic characters will be in attendance passing out discount coupons for drinks and ice cream cones. The City of Glenn Heights Fire and Police Departments will also be in attendance providing fun and goodies for community members. Children will even have the opportunity to take a tour and get a picture in the fire truck!"The Back-To-School Bash is a wonderful way to meet and connect with our community members and serve a great need at the same time. The City of Glenn Heights, Harvest of Praise Ministry and Ovilla Road Church of the Nazarene are thrilled to be working together to host this engagement opportunity," says Lauren Gray, the City of Glenn Height’s community engagement coordinator. The B2SB will take place at Heritage Community Park (400 E.
