Waxahachie Creek Bridge on FM 875.ELLIS COUNTY — In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and improve safety, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved projects to replace three bridges and their approaches.The first contract for $2 million was awarded to IEA, Inc. for the replacement of the Little Onion Creek bridge on FM 55.The second is a $3.4 million project to replace the bridge on FM 66 at the East Fork Greathouse Branch. That project was awarded to Massana Construction.The third bridge replacement is over Waxahachie Creek on FM 875. That contract was also awarded to Massana Construction for $3.7 million.A fourth project awarded to contract will add additional paved surface width on FM 879 from 2.1 miles west of Ike Road to .3 mile west of FM 1722. Ed Bell Construction was awarded that contract for $9.5 million.Construction dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractor.
