Red Oak Junior High students wowed Lockheed Martin engineers during the ninth Annual iInvent Competition on April 27.RED OAK — On April 27, the Red Oak Junior High Science Department held its 9th Annual iInvent competition where students presented creative inventions to special guest judges from Lockheed Martin.Tasked with designing and building inventions to solve everyday problems, dozens of ROJH students compete in early stages of the competition. The top 10 inventions were presented by their creators at this event to Lockheed Martin Engineers.The Top 9 Inventions Were:• Slip-Not by Aubrey Gordon• Water Ramp by Michael Hernandez & Harley O’Neal• Quick Clean Shower Brush by Karely Arteaga and Nathan Howton• See Through Deer Feeder by Naythan Morgan• The Perfect Pour by Kobe Maguire• Keep Fire Out! By Ashley Ramirez• Mini Movie Theatre by Daniel Rivas• Lunchbox Alarm by Makayla Miller• Top Tamer by Mohamad Abumerhi and Colton JakubikBased on presentation skills, creativity and effectiveness of the invention, the judges awarded first place to Aubrey Gordon for "Slip Not", second place was awarded to Mohamad Abumerhi and Colton Jakubik for "Top Tamer" and third place was awarded to Naythan Maguire for "See Through Deer Feeder"."Slip Not" is a product that you mold to your fingertips for food preparation safety. The slip on tips protect a chef’s fingers from cuts and burns."Top Tamer" is a cooler accessory that keeps drinks upright."See Through Deer Feeder" is an adaptation to a traditional deer feeder that allows the hunter to see from a distance if a feeder is low without disturbing the hunting environment.
