Police are searching for violent sex offender Charles Sprague, who escaped from a halfway house in Fort Worth on April 15, 2015.FORT WORTH — Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigators are searching for a fugitive registered sex offender who escaped from a Fort Worth halfway house shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Anyone with information on this violent sexual predator’s whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately.Charles Raymond Sprague, a civilly committed sex offender, absconded from 600 North Henderson in Fort Worth and cut off the 24-hour electronic tracking device that he is required to wear by law. He has an extensive criminal history including aggravated kidnapping.He attended Maypearl High School and is believed to still have family ties in the area. He was originally convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault in addition to Aggravated Kidnapping causing Bodily Injury/Sexual Abuse and is considered dangerous.Sprague, 44, is a Native American, 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans, white sneakers and carrying a clear backpack.Anyone with information about Sprague’s location should immediately call 911, local police or DPS Communications at 214-861-2040 or 817-657-1999.
