WISD teacher under investigation for inappropriate conduct with student Posted in Headline, Waxahachie on April 01, 2015 by Publisher Photo courtesy Waxahachie ISD WAXAHACHIE — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) notified Waxahachie Independent School Distict teacher Laura Leigh Evans, certified by the TEA as a secondary English and English Language Arts teacher for grades six through 12, on Feb. 27 that she is under investigation for "inappropriate conduct with a student."According to documents obtained by Ellis County Citizen, TEA states, "Due to the allegations, an investigation notice has been placed on your certification record. This notice will remain on your certification record during the investigation unless you are able to show cause, in writing, within ten days of receipt of this letter why the notice should be removed."The Ortiz Law Firm, representing Evans, responded to the TEA on March 11 requesting further contact regarding the allegations against Evans be directed to their office.Additional information requested by Ellis County Citizen has been withheld pending an opinion from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton based on sections 552.101, 552.102 and 552.103 of the Texas Government Code.This is a developing story.
