Wanted man apprehended by Sheriff’s Office

Royce Lee "Bubba" Ostrander, 31, was apprehended by the Ellis County Sheriff's Office on August 16, 2016 in connection with an August 4, 2016 armed robbery.

ELLIS COUNTY — Royce Lee "Bubba" Ostrander, 31, of Midlothian has been apprehended by the Ellis County Sheriff's Office in connection with an August 4 armed robbery on Farm-to-Market 876.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office had previously issued a wanted poster for the arrest of Ostrander in connection to the armed robbery.

Ostrander was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 16 from a residence in the 400 block of Cindy Way in DeSoto by U.S. Marshal's Office Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Ellis County Sheriff's Office and DeSoto Police Department.

He was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center at 11:20 p.m. that evening. He is being held on one charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and parole violation. His bond has been set at $500,000 for the aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge. No bond was set for the parole violation.

Jack Flanery, 47, of Waxahachie was previously arrested on August 4 in connection with the same alleged crime. He was booked into the McCollum Detention Center on charges of aggravated robbery, deadly conduct and parole violation. His bond was set at $1 million for the aggravated robbery and $30,000 for the deadly conduct. No bond was set for the parole violation.
