Midlothian police seeking clues in murder of mother

Midlothian Police is seeking help in identifying a suspect in the murder of Terri Leann Bevers, 45, at Creekside Church of Christ on Monday, April 18, 2016.

MIDLOTHIAN — Monday, April 18, 2016 at approximately 5 a.m., Midlothian Police Officers were dispatched along with EMS to Creekside Church of Christ located at 5400 block of E US Hwy 287 in Midlothian in regard to an unresponsive female found in the building. The female was identified as Terri Leann Bevers, 45.

Midlothian officers arrived at the location just after Midlothian Fire Department medics arrived on scene. The medics were attending to Bevers as officers entered the church.

The officers observed lots of broken glass on the floor around Bevers and they started a search of the building to ensure there were no other individuals in the building. During the search officers found evidence of forced entry into the building indicating a possible burglary. The entire building was searched and no one was found.

Bevers was pronounced deceased by Ellis County Justice of the Peace Bill Woody and Bevers' body was taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy. Investigators and crime scene specialists were called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Bevers was a boot camp instructor for what is called "Camp Gladiator" that was to start at the church at 5 a.m. Bevers entered the building carrying some equipment for the boot camp class that was moved inside due to the weather.

Video of the suspect before Bevers entered shows the suspect dressed in what appears to be tactical gear with "Police" on the front and back of the jacket. The suspect also appears to be wearing a tactical helmet, gloves and other protective gear. The suspect used force to enter a couple of rooms within the church, but it has not been determined if anything is missing at this time.

Oak Farms Dairy is offering a $10,000 reward in connection with the murder of Terri "Missy" Bevers. The reward was offered following consultation with Midlothian authorities. Oak Farms will pay the $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of the person responsible for Bevers' death. The reward will remain in force for six months.
