Crossroads of Texas Film Festival tickets on sale

WAXAHACHIE — The City of Waxahachie, along with the Waxahachie Convention and Visitors Bureau, are proud to announce the lineup for the 2016 Crossroads of Texas Film Festival.

This year's festival will be held May 18-21, 2016 and will include an all-star lineup of Texas-made films. The festival theme this year is "Music in Film" and the films featured are musicals, about musicians, or include musicians in the cast. In addition to the film screenings, the festival will also include a luncheon with a panel discussion on Music in Film with industry professionals, two free outdoor screenings, Waxahachie Walk of Fame dedications, and VIP receptions and parties for VIP pass holders.

"This is the third year of the festival and we are extremely excited about how well it has been received. In paying tribute to films that are made in Texas, or by Texans, I feel we are doing something truly special and unique that people can get excited about," said Amy Hollywood, Director of Communications and Marketing.

City leaders are excited to host this event and watch it grow. "The first two years of the festival were very successful, and we look forward to seeing it grow in the coming years. Not only is this an opportunity for our local residents to celebrate our rich film heritage, it also brings in visitors from all over, including film industry professionals who may at some point bring a project back to Waxahachie," City Manager Paul Stevens said.

Tickets are on sale on the festival website at www.crossroadsoftxff.com. Tickets may be purchased a la carte for the individual screenings and events, or VIP passes that are all-inclusive for the four days of events.

The movie lineup includes: Selena, Sir Doug and the Genuine Texas Cosmic Groove, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, True Stories, Pure Country, Two Step, Secondhand Lions, Tin Cup and Grand Champion.
