Two suspects in custody for burglary; numerous stolen items recovered

ELLIS COUNTY — In coordination with the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects and recovered numerous stolen items.

Through evidence obtained at the site of a residential burglary in the Avalon area, Ellis County investigators were able to identify one of the suspects, which led them to additional criminal activity where the suspect and another man were involved. The second man was also identified by Ellis County investigators and felony arrest warrants were obtained for both individuals.

The two men were subsequently tracked to a house in Blooming Grove, where Ellis County investigators, along with Navarro County investigators, took the two suspects into custody.

While at the location, investigators recovered stolen property from the Avalon residence and several Navarro County burglaries. As a result of the investigation, numerous burglaries have been cleared so far, with the owners of the recovered property notified.

Booked into Wayne McCollum Detention Center on burglary of a habitation charges were:

• Marvin Ray Daniels, 33, of Ennis – bond set at $25,000
• Gaines Michael Falls, 39, of Barry – bond set at $25,000

The investigation is ongoing.
