Waxahachie ISD names Clyde Melick to oversee 2015 bond projects

Clyde Melick was named Assistant Superintendent of Facilities for Waxahachie ISD during the November 9, 2015 school board meeting. He will oversee the 2015 bond projects.

WAXAHACHIE — At the November 9, 2015 Waxahachie Independent School District board meeting, Clyde Melick was named Assistant Superintendent of Facilities to oversee the 2015 bond projects and future building plans required by WISD’s student population growth.

"We are excited that Clyde is joining our team," Dr. Jeremy Glenn, superintendent of Waxahachie ISD, explained. "The construction that WISD is undertaking is a great challenge and opportunity, and we want to make certain that we have excellent oversight of it. Clyde brings experience and knowledge of both the city and district. We are looking forward to being able to take advantage of his expertise."

Clyde has served as the Director of Planning for the City of Waxahachie since 2007. He has a unique perspective of the city and its needs because he was born and raised in Waxahachie. Clyde attended Waxahachie schools where he graduated in 1988. He then graduated from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos with a Bachelor’s of Science in Geography and Planning. He also received his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.

In his free time, Clyde enjoys spending time with his family, bicycling, gardening, and basically being outside.

Clyde and his wife Chrisanna have been married for seventeen years and they have three children: Abigail, 16, Sophia, 14 and Clyde IV, 12.
