WAXAHACHIE — The Miracle League of Ellis County has been selected by Magnablend as the beneficiary of their third annual Clays for a Cause sporting clays tournament. Magnablend is dedicated to improving the lives of those in the community, and hosts this event to give back and support non-profit organizations.

The Miracle League of Ellis County is a joint venture by the United Way of West Ellis County (UWWEC) and the YMCA of Waxahachie. The Miracle League of Ellis County's mission is to provide children and adults with physical and mental limitations an opportunity to participate in sports and other recreational activities. While this league has already been in operation as the Angel's League for the past 8 years, the YMCA and the UWWEC have dared to dream of building a baseball field and playscape designed specifically for special needs children and adults in our community. Magnablend is the first local sponsor to commit support to the project.

"There is such a need in our community for the parents and families of children with disabilities to have a place where they can laugh and play like any other child," said Magnablend's Scott Pendery. "The Miracle League will provide Ellis County with a safe, clean and beautiful environment to play baseball that all individuals, regardless of age, special need or disability, can come out and enjoy."

"We are thrilled to be able to partner with Magnablend's 2015 Clays for a Cause. The Miracle League will make a tremendous impact on our community and we are very grateful to have the support of Magnablend as we move forward with providing a place for special needs children and adults' dreams to come true," said Casey Ballard, Executive Director of the United Way of West Ellis County.

"The dream of building a Miracle League Ballpark in our community just took a giant leap forward with the generous support of Magnablend. What a privilege it is to be a part of a community that desires to provide the opportunity to play, for all!" said Jon McLaughlin, Executive Director of the YMCA of Waxahachie.

Funds from previous tournaments have benefitted the Nevil Family and CASA of Ellis County. In 2014, the event drew close to one hundred shooters and raised more than $45,000 for CASA.

Clays for a Cause is scheduled for April 17 at Alpine Shooting Range in Fort Worth. The cost for a four-person team is $1,100 or $275 for an individual shooter. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
