WAXAHACHIE — Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) will host the second annual David’s March 5K and Celebration Run 2015 on Sunday, March 29, 2015. The run will be on the SAGU campus (1200 Sycamore St., Waxahachie, Texas, 75165) at 2 p.m., followed by the Purple and Gold Celebration March at 3 p.m. Registration begins at 1 p.m.

For the past three years, SAGU's Athletics supported SAGU IT Director David Bush through Coaches versus Cancer as he battled with stage 4 lymphoma. In March 2014, David passed away. In his honor, SAGU Head Basketball Coach Donnie Bostwick began the first annual David's March Run. David and his wife Joy are both SAGU alumni and played a valuable role in SAGU, Waxahachie and surrounding communities.

Bostwick shared, "David lived life to the fullest and touched everyone he came in contact with. Everything we do in the event will be a celebration of David’s life including purple and gold paint, bubbles and releasing of doves."

The run costs $35. All proceeds will go toward the David B. Bush Memorial Scholarship. The 5k course will be set up on campus which includes road and grass surfaces. DFW Racing Services will time the race.

The Purple and Gold Celebration March is a paint walk/run celebration that costs $10. Come prepared to get sprayed with purple and gold paint.

All participants will receive a t-shirt. Divisional Winners of the 5K will receive prizes.
