WHS senior Madison Warren represented district in Austin

WAXAHACHIE — Madison Warren, a Waxahachie High School senior who serves as the State Sergeant-At-Arms for the Texas Technology Student Association (TSA), represented the Waxahachie Independent School District at the 2015 Capitol Day for the Career and Technology Student Organization on Feb. 12-13, 2015 in Austin, TX.

Texas TSA serves students enrolled in Career and Technical courses aligned with the Architecture & Construction, Arts, A/V Technology and Communications, Information Technology, and Manufacturing and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), career clusters.

Madison spent her time in Austin training and preparing for her visit to the state capitol where she would visit with local legislators and members of the Texas Board of Education.

Madison had the opportunity to visit with John Wray, TX House of Representative, District 10 and Sue Melton-Malone, State Board of Education Member, District 14 while in Austin. She talked with Wray about Career and Technology opportunities offered to her by Waxahachie ISD.

While attending a dinner with the State Board of Education (SBOE) she was able to meet several members of the State Board of Education who she was able to talk about the courses she has taken in her four years of high school while attending Global High and Waxahachie High. She also had the opportunity to introduce Tom Maynard SBOE District 10 to the dinner guests as part of the program.
