TxDOT increases speed limit on Ellis County highways

ELLIS COUNTY — The Texas Transportation Commission voted on Jan. 29 to modify speed limits in various counties, including Ellis County.

Ellis County will see increased speed limits on IH 35 E, IH 45 and a portion of US 67.

IH 45 will increase to 70 mph from 65 mph, a portion of US 67 will increase to 70 mph from 65 mph and IH 35 E will increase to 75 mph from 65 in the southern portion of the county while the northern portion will increase to 70 mph from 65 mph.

TxDOT will work to change speed limit signs over the next couple of months.
